Rains is 9-1 against Chisum since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. Chisum took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Rains, who comes in off a win.

It was a proper cat-fight when Rains faced off against Commerce on Tuesday. The Wildcats came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 6-1.

Mount Vernon hit Chisum with a nine-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Mustangs came up short against the Tigers, falling 13-3. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chisum saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brielyn Atnip, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.

Rains has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.2 runs over those games. As for Chisum, their loss dropped their record down to 13-12.

Rains got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in March against Chisum by a conclusive 12-2 score. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
