Football Recap: Episcopal Find Success

Episcopal was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They had just enough and edged out the St. Michael's Warriors 44-42. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Knights' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while the Warriors are ranked 611th).

Several Warriors players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nico Anderson, who rushed for 73 yards and three scores, and also threw for 207 yards and one touchdown while completing 78.6% of his passes. Ian Quinn was Anderson's top target, picking up 74 receiving yards and one TD, while also rushing for 44 yards and one touchdown.

Episcopal now has a winning record of 2-1. As for St. Michael's, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 2-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Episcopal will challenge West Orange-Stark at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Michael's, they will take on Grapevine Faith Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 992 yards in their previous games.
