Baseball Recap: Huntingdon Beats Bald Eagle Area for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Huntingdon hadn't done well against Bald Eagle Area recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. Huntingdon walked away with an 8-5 win over Bald Eagle Area. The game was the first time the Bearcats have beaten the Eagles on their field since April 16, 2019.

Connor Moore made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Moore was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-5. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Erick Rupert, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that he launched this season. Ethan Reck was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Huntingdon was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
