Baseball Recap: Sacred Heart-Griffin Takes a Loss

Sacred Heart-Griffin lost against Pleasant Plains back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Cyclones fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 2-1. The Cyclones have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sacred Heart-Griffin's defeat dropped their record down to 17-6. As for Pleasant Plains, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 22-5.

Sacred Heart-Griffin and Pleasant Plains should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Cyclones will take on Jacksonville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (63 vs. 242). Meanwhile, Pleasant Plains (ranked 41st) will meet Springfield (ranked 303rd) at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
