The Bear Lake Bears will venture away from home to face off against the Teton Redskins at 12:15 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Bear Lake has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Teton will arrive with three straight wins.
Bear Lake came up short against Marsh Valley on Wednesday, falling 15-5.
Mason Bloxom was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Teton let Gooding stack four runs on them in the first inning last Tuesday but luckily Teton prevailed anyway. The Redskins had just enough and edged out the Senators 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Redskins have posted since April 14, 2025.
Ryne Cox made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two triples, two runs, and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that he has brought in this season.
In other batting news, Luke Nelson was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025. Sage Woolstenhulme was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs.
Teton's record is now 4-1. As for Bear Lake, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.
Friday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Bear Lake has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .431. However, it's not like Teton struggles in that department as they've averaged .435. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Bear Lake's way against Teton in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Bear Lake made off with a 15-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bears since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
