The North Tahoe Lakers are taking a road trip to challenge the Virginia City Muckers at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Tahoe is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.
North Tahoe will bounce into Thursday's matchup after beating West Wendover, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Lakers walked away with a 9-6 win over the Wolverines on Saturday.

Noah Glickman was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over 6.2 innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
Glickman wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Peter Rusek, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and one RBI. Those two triples gave Rusek a new career-high. Curtis Edmunds was another, scoring three runs while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Virginia City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 23-8 to Smith Valley. That's two games in a row now that the Muckers have lost by exactly 15 runs.
Derek McCoy made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. He has become a key player for Virginia City: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-8 otherwise. Cole Hough also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
North Tahoe is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.4 runs over those games. As for Virginia City, their loss dropped their record down to 2-9.
Virginia City's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: North Tahoe hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .319. It's a different story for Virginia City, though, as they've only averaged .214. Will they be able to contain North Tahoe's hitters?
Everything went North Tahoe's way against Virginia City in their previous matchup back in February, as North Tahoe made off with an 11-4 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lakers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
