Basketball Recap: Corinth Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Corinth had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came within six points of losing the streak, but they secured a 49-43 W against the Lake George Lakers. The Riverhawks have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Lakers, too.

Corinth got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Whitney Cameron out in front who posted 23 points and six rebounds. Those 23 points gave Cameron a new career-high. Bella Craig was another key player, putting up 12 points along with seven boards and four steals.

Corinth smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive matchups.

Despite the defeat, Lake George had strong showings from Madyson Brennan, who earned 22 points and eight rebounds, and Mykah Collier-Fisher, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 boards. Brennan has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last eight times she's played.

Corinth's record now sits at 12-6. As for Lake George, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.

Coming up, Corinth will be playing in front of their home fans against Warrensburg at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lake George, they will venture away from home to challenge Whitehall at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Whitehall's defense has only allowed 25.6 points per game this season, so Lake George's offense will have their work cut out for them.
