Recap: Johnson Jaguars vs. Clark Cougars

The Johnson Jaguars had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came out on top against Clark by a score of 52-43. This was payback for Johnson, who suffered a 44-41 loss the last time these two teams met.

Leading Johnson to victory were Daryl Banks and Marc Anthony. Banks scored 11 points along with two blocks, while Anthony scored ten points along with six rebounds and three steals. Ian Rizo was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.

Clark's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaden Flemons, who scored 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dom Guerra, who scored eight points.

Johnson is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-17 record this season. As for Clark, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-13.

Johnson will be playing in front of their home fans against Reagan at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Reagan knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matchups -- so hopefully Johnson likes a good challenge. As for Clark, they will head out on the road to take on Churchill at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Clark focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Wednesday.
