Basketball Recap: Stratford Takes a Loss

Stratford and George Ranch squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Stratford had to settle for second. They fell just short of the George Ranch Longhorns by a score of 48-45. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 369th in Texas, while the Longhorns are ranked 174th in Texas).

It was another big night for Cayden Munnilal, who went 8-for-15 on his way to 23 points for George Ranch. The match was Munnilal's fifth in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jevon Walker, who went 6-for-10 en route to 13 points and six boards.

Stratford's defeat dropped their record down to 16-18. As for George Ranch, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-12 record this season.

Stratford does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for George Ranch, they have already played their next game, a 57-47 loss against Shadow Creek on the 25th.
