Softball Recap: Livingston Central Picks Up 12th Consecutive Victory

Livingston Central had already won 11 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it 12 on Tuesday. They never let the Caldwell County Tigers get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. The Cardinals' pitching crew has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a run in their last seven matches.

The result came thanks to Addison Tramble's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Chloe Doyle was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Livingston Central pushed their record up to 20-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Caldwell County, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-11.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Livingston Central will square off against Trigg County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Caldwell County, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Christian County at 6:00 p.m. The Colonels will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight.
