Baseball Recap: Johnsburg's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Johnsburg waltzed into their match on Saturday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Sandwich Indians. For the Skyhawks, this counts as revenge for the 9-1 win the Indians walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Nate Frost spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on four hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Landon Johnson was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Jack Nelson, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

Johnsburg pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Sandwich, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-8.

Johnsburg will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Indians: the pair will be back at it again later today.
