Baseball Recap: Eastern Montgomery Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Eastern Montgomery put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their undefeated season alive. They were the clear victors by a 15-2 margin over the Roanoke Catholic Celtics. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-6 last Thursday.

Cam Sutphin was a standout: he scored two runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Maze Cox was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Eastern Montgomery's record now sits at 3-0-1. As for Roanoke Catholic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eastern Montgomery will take on Craig County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Roanoke Catholic, they will face off against Christian Heritage Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Christian Heritage Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Roanoke Catholic's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
