Basketball Recap: Ringgold Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Ringgold had lost ten straight headed into Friday's contest, but Malayia Johnson didn't let it get to 11. The Redskins took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 50-23 victory over the Glenbrook Apaches for which the team can thank Johnson, who posted 27 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Ringgold's points.

Ringgold's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 6-17. As for Glenbrook, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Ringgold is set to challenge their familiar foe Haynesville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Glenbrook will square off against rival Jonesboro-Hodge at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
