Basketball Recap: Bible Baptist Christian's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Saturday

On Saturday, the Bible Baptist Christian Wolves earned a 66-58 win over the Excel Christian Academy Spartans. Given the Wolves' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 175th in Georgia, while the Spartans are ranked 584th in Florida), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bible Baptist Christian found their leader in sophomore Keitho Johnson, who posted 22 points along with eight boards and five assists. Jaquayvion Gilmore was another key player, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.

Bible Baptist Christian's victory bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Excel Christian Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Bible Baptist Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 53-50 loss against Carrollwood Day on the 23rd. As for Excel Christian Academy, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on ABF Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
