Volleyball Recap: Harrison Extends Home Winning Streak to 16

Harrison faced Lafayette Jefferson in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Raiders won by a set and slipped past the Bronchos 2-1. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Bronchos: they've now won three in a row.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Harrison got the one that really mattered. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 21-25, 15-9.

Cole Hess paced Harrison's offense, picking up 12 kills. Hess got some help from Ian McKinney and his 20 assists. McKinney was also solid from the service line: he led the team with two aces.

Harrison pushed their record up to 17-5 with the victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Lafayette Jefferson, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-3.

Harrison has already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Kokomo on the 29th. Hopefully Lafayette Jefferson paid attention to the Raiders' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
