Preview: Tri County Area Vikings vs. Pine River Area Bucks

The Tri County Area Vikings are on the road again on Tuesday and play against the Pine River Area Bucks at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. Hopefully Tri County Area focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Friday.

Last Friday, things could have been worse for Tri County Area, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 66-50 loss to White Cloud.

Despite their defeat, Tri County Area saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Andrew Lenon, who scored 11 points, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Henry, who scored 12 points.

Meanwhile, Pine River Area put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Houghton Lake as Pine River Area made off with a 58-35 victory. Pine River Area might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won three matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Nathan Marks was the offensive standout of the game as he scored 15 points along with 6 steals. Another player making a difference was Mason Gugle, who scored 13 points.

The losses dropped Tri County Area to 1-4 and White Cloud to 2-1.

Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Tri County Area and Pine River Area are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Tri County Area hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 53.6 points per game. It's a different story for Pine River Area, though, as they've been averaging only 59.5 per game. Everything came up roses for Tri County Area against Pine River Area in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 59-32 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tri County Area since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
