After each having a week off, the Flint River Academy Wildcats and the Robert Toombs Christian Academy Crusaders will shake off the cobwebs and challenge one another at 2:00 p.m. on December 1st. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
With a playoff game on the line, Flint River Academy rose to the challenge on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 42-6 win over the Trojans. The win was just business as usual for Flint River Academy, who after 11 games remain undefeated this season.
Trenton Young was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 56 yards and four touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Cale Cartwright, who rushed for 100 yards on only 12 carries.
Meanwhile, Robert Toombs Christian Academy entered their tilt with Memorial Day with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Robert Toombs Christian Academy simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Memorial Day 49-8 at home.
Robert Toombs Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but David Hill led the charge by rushing for 165 yards and three touchdowns on only five carries. Hill was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 65 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Powell, who rushed for 98 yards and two touchdowns.
Flint River Academy has yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 11-0 record. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.8 points per game. As for Robert Toombs Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.
