Basketball Game Preview: Jefferson County Warriors vs. Academy for Classical Education Gryphons

The Jefferson County Warriors will face off against the Academy for Classical Education Gryphons at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Friday, Jefferson County sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 61-58 victory over Washington County.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Academy for Classical Education). They strolled past Northeast with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 69-55.

Academy for Classical Education's win came from a few key players Jefferson County will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jaylon Davis, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Camden Bailey, who went 7 of 17 on his way to 18 points and seven rebounds.

Academy for Classical Education smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Jefferson County's win bumped their record up to 5-18. As for Academy for Classical Education, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-15.
