Recap: Southwest Christian Academy Lions vs. Christian Ministries Academy Conquerors
The Southwest Christian Academy Lions couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They received a tough blow on Monday as they fell 39-20 to Christian Ministries Academy. Southwest Christian Academy lost against Christian Ministries Academy in their previous head to head back in February, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 58-17 score last time.
Christian Ministries Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Faith James, who scored 18 points. That makes it eight consecutive games in which James has scored at least 25% of Christian Ministries Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Madison Garner, who scored 10 points.
Southwest Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Christian Ministries Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Arkansas Christian Academy the next time they take the court. Christian Ministries Academy will head out to face Arkansas Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Southwest Christian Academy will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
