Basketball Recap: Lawrence Central Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

Lawrence Central had won three straight games and Laila Abdurraqib did her part to make it four on Monday. The Lawrence Central Bears secured a 62-56 W over the Purcell Marian Cavaliers thanks in part to Abdurraqib, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc on her way to 27 points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Lawrence Central's victory bumped their record up to 18-1. As for Purcell Marian, they moved to 10-5 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Lawrence Central wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 76-49 win against North Central on the 21st. Purcell Marian has also already played their next game, a 95-49 victory against Roger Bacon on the 22nd.
