Recap: Salome Frogs vs. Fort Thomas Apaches
The Salome Frogs were the 56-52 winner over the Fort Thomas Apaches when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Salome received a tough blow on Saturday as they fell 71-54 to Fort Thomas. Salome has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Salome lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jovany Calderon. Despite the final result, he scored 24 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Edgar Gamez, who scored eight points.
Fort Thomas found their leader in underclassman Damare Dosela, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Dosela also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Jasiah Bowman, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Salome's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Fort Thomas, their victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-5.
Salome will be playing at home against Mayer at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fort Thomas' road trip will continue as they head out to face Superior at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th.
