Basketball Game Preview: Benton Bobcats vs. West Liberty Comets

The Benton Bobcats will square off against the West Liberty Comets at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Benton will bounce into Monday's game after beating Williamsburg, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. Benton snuck past Williamsburg with a 65-59 victory on Friday.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, West Liberty beat Durant 66-60 on Friday. The Comets haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

West Liberty pushed their record up to 11-10 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points over those games. As for Benton, their win bumped their record up to 5-15.

Things could have been worse for Benton, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 53-38 loss to West Liberty in their previous meeting back in February of 2024.
