Basketball Preview: Leadore Mustangs vs. Sho-Ban Chiefs
Leadore and Sho-Ban are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2020, but not for long. The Mustangs are taking a road trip to square off against the Chiefs at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Leadore is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Mackay on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Mustangs were outmatched by the Miners and fell 53-23. The defeat continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Miners: they've now lost three in a row.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Porter Mayo, who posted six points. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games he's played. Dane Piippo was another key player, putting up four points in addition to six rebounds and four blocks.
Sho-Ban not only won last Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since December 14, 2024 (when they won 55-12). They claimed a resounding 71-30 win over North Gem. The Chiefs have beaten the Cowboys the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Cowboys has come to flipping the script.
Sho-Ban's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Leadore, the loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 2-2.
