Basketball Recap: Cory-Rawson Finds Home Court Redemption Against Ridgemont

There's no place like home for Cory-Rawson, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They managed a 41-37 victory over the Ridgemont Golden Gophers on Saturday. For the Fighting Hornets, this counts as revenge for the 32-27 win the Golden Gophers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.

When it comes to explaining why Ridgemont lost, don't look at Kylie Shreve. Despite the final result, she posted 19 points and four steals. Those 19 points gave Shreve a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lauren Wingfield, who earned six points and 11 rebounds.

Cory-Rawson's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-6. As for Ridgemont, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Cory-Rawson will take on Columbus Grove in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Ridgemont, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Cardington-Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on December 30th.
