Basketball Recap: Burton Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Burton faced off against Bremond on Friday. 2025 welcomed the Burton Panthers with a 54-28 loss courtesy of the Bremond Tigers. The match marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Bremond's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tristan Morehead led the charge by going 6 of 13 en route to 13 points along with six rebounds and six steals. With that strong performance, Morehead is now averaging an impressive 2.3 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeramiah Morgan, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine boards.

Burton's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Bremond, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-2.

Burton will host Mumford at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Bremond, they will head out to face off against Snook at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
