Florence has gone 6-1 against San Tan Foothills recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Gophers will square off against the Sabercats at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Florence has four straight victories, San Tan Foothills has nine straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Florence's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past Safford 36-0. The Gophers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Among those leading the charge was Brody Ramirez, who threw for 113 yards and a pair of TDs on only nine passes, and also punched in one rushing score.

Florence didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Keantum Greeley and Zayden Cundiff. Florence got some further help from Kaidin Valle: he picked up a sack and made 13 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, San Tan Foothills played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 34-6 loss at the hands of Coolidge. The Sabercats were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

Florence now has a winning record of 5-4. As for San Tan Foothills, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-9.

Everything came up roses for Florence against San Tan Foothills when the teams last played back in September of 2024, as the team secured a 42-13 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Gophers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
