Softball Game Preview: Averill Park Warriors vs. Shenendehowa Plainsmen

Averill Park hasn't had much luck against Shenendehowa recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Warriors will venture away from home to challenge the Plainsmen at 4:15 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

On Tuesday, Averill Park came up short against Tamarac and fell 4-1. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Shenendehowa has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.5 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Monday. They came up short against Colonie Central, falling 10-1. The game marked the Plainsmen's lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Averill Park's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Shenendehowa, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Averill Park suffered a grim 13-0 defeat to Shenendehowa when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
