Soccer Game Preview: Magnolia Heights vs. Starkville Academy

Magnolia Heights is 0-10 against Starkville Academy since February of 2018 but things could change on Saturday. The Magnolia Heights Chiefs will welcome the Starkville Academy Volunteers at 5:30 p.m.

Monday just wasn't the day for Magnolia Heights' offense. They lost 7-0 to Pillow Academy on Monday. The Chiefs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, on ThursdayLamar kept up with Starkville Academy until halftime, but afterwards: not so much. Starkville Academy's defense stepped up to hand Lamar a 3-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Volunteers, who have now won three contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Starkville Academy is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 12 goals over those four games. As for Magnolia Heights, their loss dropped their record down to 3-5.
