The Lima Central Catholic Thunderbirds will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Cardinal Stritch Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Thursday, Lima Central Catholic was beaten by Spencerville 56-17. The Thunderbirds have struggled against the Bearcats recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Cardinal Stritch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a blow against Calvert, falling 66-32. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 705th, while the Senecas are ranked 282nd).

Lima Central Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Cardinal Stritch, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Lima Central Catholic beat Cardinal Stritch 41-28 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lima Central Catholic since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
