Baseball Game Preview: San Lorenzo Valley Cougars vs. Santa Cruz Cardinals

San Lorenzo Valley is 1-9 against Santa Cruz since March of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Cougars will face off against the Cardinals at 4:00 p.m.

San Lorenzo Valley is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Thursday. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of Everett Alvarez.

Brody Egner made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run. Porter Boyd was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Santa Cruz challenged San Lorenzo Valley on Tuesday. The Cardinals were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over the Cougars. The Cardinals not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 18th (when they won 14-2).

San Lorenzo Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-20. As for Santa Cruz, they now have a winning record of 12-11.

San Lorenzo Valley might still be hurting after the 11-2 loss they got from Santa Cruz in their previous meeting on Tuesday. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
