Basketball Recap: West Laurens Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Maddie Ridgeway and Brooklyn Jackson

West Laurens lost against Hephzibah back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The West Laurens Raiders fell 49-42 to the Hephzibah Rebels. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, West Laurens had strong showings from Brooklyn Jackson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 20 rebounds, and Maddie Ridgeway, who went 7 of 10 on her way to 15 points and seven boards. What's more, Jackson also racked up three assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2024.

West Laurens' loss dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Hephzibah, their victory bumped their record up to 5-14.

West Laurens wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 78-45 defeat against East Laurens on the 25th. As for Hephzibah, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-48 loss against Academy of Richmond County on the 25th.
