Basketball Recap: Bethel Assembly Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Bethel Assembly Christian Academy lost against Mount Calvary Christian Academy back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Bethel Assembly Christian Academy Eagles took a 52-37 bruising from the Mount Calvary Christian Academy Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 498th, while the Warriors are ranked 236th).

Hannah Rice was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 23 points and 24 rebounds for Mount Calvary Christian Academy. Rice has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more boards the last 54 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Holly Jo Brick, who posted six points along with 14 rebounds and seven blocks.

This is the second loss in a row for Bethel Assembly Christian Academy and nudges their season record down to 6-13. As for Mount Calvary Christian Academy, the victory was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-4.

Bethel Assembly Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mount Calvary Christian Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Suffolk Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
