Baseball Game Preview: Pine Ridge Panthers vs. Mulberry Panthers

Pine Ridge will head out on the road to face off against Mulberry at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Pine Ridge is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-5 margin over Vanguard. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

The team relied heavily on Sam Figueroa, who went 4-for-5 with five stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Abiezer Robledo, who went 3-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Panthers on Thursday. Mulberry skirted past Eustis 5-4.

Coby Anker looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two hits in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Nic Partridge was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Medina, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Mulberry is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Pine Ridge, their record now sits at 13-9-2.
