Softball Recap: Newport Picks Up 12th Straight Win on the Road

Newport put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Fall Mountain Wildcats 8-1. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by seven runs or more this season.

Newport's victory was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.2 runs over those games. As for Fall Mountain, they moved to 5-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newport will face off against Hinsdale at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fall Mountain, they will welcome Conant at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
