Recap: Georgetown Bulldogs vs. Dillon Wildcats
The Georgetown Bulldogs lost against the Dillon Wildcats back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Georgetown took a 56-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dillon. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Georgetown in their matchups with Dillon: they've now lost seven in a row.
Despite the loss, Georgetown still got an impressive performance from Ty Stanley, who scored 22 points. Stanley has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jari Ford, who scored 11 points.
Jamarion Fling was a one-man wrecking crew for Dillon as he scored 22 points along with six rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Fling has scored all season. Georgetown will head out on the road to challenge Philip Simmons at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Philip Simmons focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Tuesday. As for Dillon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Beaufort at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Dillon's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests.
