Basketball Preview: Springport Spartans vs. Bronson Vikings

Springport is 2-8 against the Vikings since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Springport Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Bronson Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Springport focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Thursday.

Last Thursday, Springport was able to grind out a solid win over the Panthers, taking the game 52-40. 52 seems to be a good number for Springport as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.

It was another big night for Braydon Hawes, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Baum, who scored six points along with two steals and two blocks.

Meanwhile, Bronson unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Friday. They were the victim of a rough 69-49 defeat at the hands of Concord.

The victory makes it two in a row for Springport and bumps their season record up to 11-5. As for Bronson, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4.

Springport came up short against the Vikings when the teams last played back in January, falling 63-56. Can Springport avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
