 Platteview lost against Waverly back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Monday. The Platteview Trojans fell just short of the Waverly Vikings by a score of  3-2.
  Griffin Saunders was a  force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he  tossed 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   two  hits.
 At the plate, Platteview saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Tayt Frauendorfer, who  scored a  run while going 1-for-2.
 On Waverly's side,  Logan Chloupek looked comfortable as he  pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits (he also only allowed one  walk).  Hunter Claycomb relieved him and did a solid job,   pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off   seven  hits.
 Platteview now  has a losing record at 1-2. As for Waverly, the  victory for them keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
 Platteview will head out on the road to  challenge  Malcolm at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Malcolm is coming into the  match with three straight  wins at home,  so Platteview will have to stop a  team with plenty of momentum. Waverly will take on Wahoo/Bishop Neumann at 4:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Waverly's pitching crew has only allowed 2.2  runs per game  this season, so Wahoo/Bishop Neumann's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
