Soccer Game Preview: Brownwood vs. Alvarado

The Brownwood Lions will face off against the Alvarado Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Brownwood will be strutting in after a victory while Alvarado will be coming in after a loss.

Brownwood is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. Their defense stepped up to hand Diamond Hill-Jarvis a 9-0 shutout on Friday. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by four goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, Alvarado was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Palestine. The contest was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Indians couldn't quite close it out.

Brownwood's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those seven matchups. As for Alvarado, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
