Baseball Game Preview: Cicero-North Syracuse Northstars vs. West Genesee Wildcats

For the second straight game, Cicero-North Syracuse will face off against West Genesee. The Northstars will square off against the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Cicero-North Syracuse 3.2, West Genesee 2.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Monday just wasn't the day for Cicero-North Syracuse's offense. They fell just short of West Genesee by a score of 2-0 on Monday. The Northstars' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Lucas Aiello spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on one hit and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

The win (which was West Genesee's eighth in a row) raised their record to 15-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Cicero-North Syracuse, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.
