It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Coventry can now relate to. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Valley Regional Warriors on Friday. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.
While Coventry had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-18, 20-25, 25-22.
Despite the loss, Coventry still got an impressive performance from Charlotte Wesoloskie, who had 45 digs. Wesoloskie has been hot , having posted 11 or more digs the last six times she's played.
Even though they lost, Coventry was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 33 consecutive matches dating back to last season.
The defeat snapped Coventry's winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 20-6 record. As for Valley Regional, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 24-2.
