Recap: Bishop McDevitt Crusaders vs. Mifflin County Huskies
The Bishop McDevitt Crusaders put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They blew past Mifflin County, posting a 42-0 win at home. The result was nothing new for Bishop McDevitt, who have now won seven matchups by 26 points or more so far this season.
It was another big night for Stone Saunders, who threw for 287 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.4% of his passes. Saunders is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last seven games he's played. Rico Scott was another key contributor, picking up 97 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Bishop McDevitt's victory was their 12th straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.2 points per game. As for Mifflin County, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop McDevitt will square off against Lower Dauphin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lower Dauphin will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 131st, while Bishop McDevitt is ranked seventh). As for Mifflin County, they will head out on the road to face off against Red Land at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
