Baseball Recap: South Eugene Comes Up Short

South Eugene extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 15 on Saturday, dropping them down to 0-7. They came up short against the South Medford Panthers, falling 11-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Axe were not able to get on the board.

As for South Medford, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1. That looming 11-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

For South Medford's part, Isaiah Thomas tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched. Thomas has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Easton Douglas was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2025. Keegan Painter also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
