Basketball Game Preview: Palisades Pumas vs. Cox Mill Chargers

The Palisades Pumas will venture away from home to challenge the Cox Mill Chargers at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Palisades is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.7 points per game this season.

Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Palisades beat Independence 51-45. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Pumas' disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 144th, while the Patriots are ranked 50th).

It was another big night for Jayen Reeves, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 22 points in addition to five assists and five boards. The game was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Dillard, who posted six points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Cox Mill didn't have quite enough to beat Mooresville on Friday and fell 60-58. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Palisades' win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-3. As for Cox Mill, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
