Soccer Recap: Kosciusko Takes a Loss

Kosciusko lost against Starkville back in December of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Kosciusko Whippets lost 6-2 to the Starkville Yellowjackets. While losing is never fun, the Whippets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi soccer rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while the Yellowjackets are ranked ninth).

This is the second loss in a row for Kosciusko and nudges their season record down to 7-10. As for Starkville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-2.

Kosciusko will head out on the road to take on Newton County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Kosciusko is facing Newton County at the right time seeing as Newton County is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Starkville, they will look to defend their home pitch on Thursday against Madison Central at 7:15 p.m. Madison Central's last five matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
