Basketball Game Preview: Trinity Christian Crusaders vs. John Milledge Academy Trojans

After both having extra time off, the Trinity Christian Crusaders and the John Milledge Academy Trojans will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Trinity Christian will come in still looking for their first win of the season.

Last Saturday, Trinity Christian came up short against Piedmont Academy and fell 53-45.

Meanwhile, John Milledge Academy also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to First Preparatory Christian Academy by a score of 59-48. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 385th, while the Highlanders are ranked 164th).

Despite the defeat, John Milledge Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Asa Wall dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wall has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Brayden Faulkner, who posted ten points.

Even though they lost, John Milledge Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

John Milledge Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. As for Trinity Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12.

Trinity Christian and John Milledge Academy were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup on December 14th, but Trinity Christian came up empty-handed after a 51-50 defeat.
