Basketball Recap: Austin Comes Up Short

Austin lost against Coudersport back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Austin Panthers were outmatched by the Coudersport Falcons and fell 71-33. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 651st, while the Falcons are ranked 301st).

Austin has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Coudersport, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Austin will host Port Allegany at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Coudersport, they will face off against Otto-Eldred at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Otto-Eldred's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
