Basketball Game Preview: Sunnyslope Vikings vs. Millennium Tigers

The Sunnyslope Vikings will face off against the Millennium Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Sunnyslope comes in on eight and Millennium on six.

Sunnyslope is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Boulder Creek 68-34.

It was another big night for Rider Portela, who shot 70% from the field en route to 19 points and seven steals. His big performance that evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Darius Wabbington, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 boards.

Meanwhile, Millennium and Notre Dame Prep (ranked 78th and 85th in the MaxPreps national rankings respectively) squared off in a high-profile contest on Friday. Millennium snuck past Notre Dame Prep with a 65-61 victory.

Millennium pushed their record up to 20-7 with the win, which was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 85.5 points over those games. As for Sunnyslope, their victory bumped their record up to 20-8.

Sunnyslope didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Millennium in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 72-66 win. Does Sunnyslope have another victory up their sleeve, or will Millennium turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
