Basketball Game Preview: Farmington Phoenix vs. Davis Darts

Farmington is 0-9 against Davis since December of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. The Farmington Phoenix will be playing at home against the Davis Darts at 5:15 p.m. Farmington will be strutting in after a victory while Davis will be coming in after a loss.

Last Friday, Farmington was able to grind out a solid win over Layton, taking the game 46-36.

Meanwhile, Davis was just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 39-38 to Syracuse.

Farmington will need to focus on slowing down T'Maea Eteuati, one of several Davis players who made an impact when they last played. She posted 13 points and eight boards. That was a full 34.2% of Davis' points, marking the third time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points. Chloe Peery was another key player, putting up seven points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Davis smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive contests.

The victory got Farmington back to even at 10-10. As for Davis, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-6.

Farmington came up short against Davis when the teams last played back in January, falling 53-41. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Eteuati, who went 10 of 12 en route to 26 points and four steals. Now that Farmington knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
