There's no place like home for Joplin, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Neosho Wildcats 3-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Eagles also won the last time the pair played back in September.
Joplin took Neosho into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 22-25, 20-25, 25-22, 15-13.
Joplin was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 15 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2023.
Despite the loss, Neosho saw an underclassman step up: freshman Audrey Emery had 11 digs. Those 11 digs set a new season-high mark for Emery.
Joplin's win bumped their record up to 7-24-1. As for Neosho, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-20 record this season.
