Softball Game Preview: Roy Royals vs. Box Elder Bees

Roy hasn't had much luck against Box Elder recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Royals will be playing at home against the Bees at 3:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Roy is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Northridge.

Meanwhile, Box Elder faced Bear River in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Bees came up short against the Bears, falling 10-3. The Bees haven't had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Brooke Richards was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Izibel Mason was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Roy's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Box Elder, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-2.
